This review is of the main playground on the Halton Camp / Princess Mary Gate housing estate and is located on the corner of Wood Lane and Whittingham Avenue. It’s a small community playground. It shouldn’t be confused with the helicopter playground, which is just down the road.
Most of the equipment is made from wood (which always ages so much better than metal playgrounds I think) and it’s well maintained. Only downside, it’s grass so it can get quite muddy if it’s wet.
The equipment
The playground at Halton Camp has got equipment for younger and older kids. There’s a playframe with swing, slide and climbing wall & net for older children;
There’s also a funky wobbly wooden bridge on a hill that the kids really liked.
For younger children there’s a cute little playhouse with a little den underneath it. They also have toddler swings and a wide slide.
Everything else
Because the playground at Halton Camp is quite small there isn’t a lot of other equipment. They have a see-saw (although even the boys struggled to get onto it without help as it goes quite high up in the air), a spinning disk and a neat swing.
Our Halton Camp Playground Review
It’s a decent enough little playground, although there aren’t many facilities. The helicopter park around the corner has a lot more stuff, but it can get busy. Possibly one to avoid in the middle of winter unless you’re in fully coveralls!

You’re right at the bottom of Wendover Woods. There’s also a couple of other playgrounds such as the one at Witchell Meadow and Aston Clinton Hub.
