Free Time with the Kids Map

You asked and I delivered! Every single Free Time with the Kids review is on this map! There’s almost 300 days out, activities and walks across Bucks, Beds, Oxon & Herts. They’re all categorised by the type of place (woodlands, soft play, museums etc) and each pin tells you about the charges, parking, loos, food and there’s a link to my full review. It’s been a hell of a lot of work but I hope you find it really helpful!

How to use the Free Time with the Kids Map

Finding reviews of family days out and activities using this map is really easy on all devices. You can zoom in and out either using the + / – keys or two fingers just like a normal Google map. Click on a pin to see the name of the place and the basic details such as charges and parking and (most importantly) the review link. If you want to filter it down by type of place, such just pins for playgrounds, then click the little rectangle with an arrow to the left of the map header below and it will pull out the menu. You can then filter which categories you want to see.

Legend

  • Brown (Castle symbol) – Historic House & garden
  • Brown (Flower symbol) – Garden
  • Orange – Museum
  • Light Blue – Playgrounds and parks
  • Dark Green – Woodlands, country parks, rivers & lakes. Also crosses over with Pale Green below
  • Purple – Zoos, open farms and all things animal related
  • Yellow – Soft play and physical activity centres (climbing walls, bowling etc)
  • Pale Green (walking symbol) – family friendly walks. Obviously you can walk at all of the countryside locations with dark green icons but this is more about walking routes. Some are linear, some circular.
  • Dark Blue (Swimming symbol) – Swimming pools, splash parks
  • Dark Blue (Beach symbol) – Ummm, shockingly this is for beaches!
  • Blue Pin – These are for all the ones I couldn’t really fit into a category above
  • Silver – These are all the locations that you can currently buy a Treasure Map Trail for

Hi, I’m Vicky. My husband and I live in Aylesbury with our three children; a 14 year old son, an 12 year old son and a 6 year old daughter. I (mostly) love spending time together as a family. We visit all kinds of places and we’re quite happy to drive a fair distance for a decent day out. A few years ago I decided to set up Free Time with the Kids as a way to share our experiences of these family days out.

You’ll find the essential information you need to know before your visit that can be surprisingly hard to find out. Where do I park? How much will it cost me to get in? Are there any discounts available? Are there loos? Can I take a picnic or get food? My aim is to be your go-to guide for all your free and cheap family days out across Bucks, Beds, Oxon, Herts & slightly beyond. I really hope you find the reviews helpful.
