This review of Volcano Falls Milton Keynes came about because Smallest Child wanted to play crazy golf and this place was by far the most recommended by you guys! We’d been to another place in MK previously and didn’t like it so we were in the market for something better!
The Set-up
They have three different courses here, plus various other attractions. There’s a tropical themed course, a dinosaur one and a carnival one. You can book one or two courses but randomly there doesn’t seem to be an option to do three courses! As far as I can tell there’s no difference in difficulty between the courses and they are all 12 holes.
You don’t get a paper scorecard, but you can scan the QR code to use their interactive one. This is my quite good and it insults or praises you as you go. Little tip, if you have lots of coats and bags with you use one of the trolleys to carry it around. Then you can use your child like a caddy!!

The Tropical course
Smallest Child decided she wanted to start with this course and it looked like a lot of fun. The theming is really good and there’s loads of interactive stuff on some of the holes. For instance when you hit your ball through the octopus it sings at you. And when you hit it at the wave it plays Wipeout. Pretty cool.

Full disclosure, I’m pretty rubbish at crazy golf. I have been known to take an age to get around some of these courses. I’ve even fallen in the stream at one of them! (Check out my review of Millets’ crazy golf). But this course was easy enough for Smallest Child and I to do without getting frustrated. I even got a hole in one!! Yes, that might mean for seasoned pros it’s a bit too easy but it’s supposed to be fun and there’s nothing worse than it being REALLY hard when it’s supposed to be fun.

Volcano Falls Adventure Golf (aka the dinosaur one)
Next up was the dinosaur themed course. Having said a bit earlier in the review that the courses are the same level of difficulty, the Volcano Falls one was a bit harder, at least the Milton Keynes one was. They do have other locations around the UK BTW. Again the theming is excellent and there’s things like an animatronic dinosaur in here.

There is also a hole that goes across a bridge and down some tubes. This means you cannot see where you’re hitting but actually that’s quite fun!

Coney Island
We decided not to do this course as TBH it looked a little bit boring in comparison to the other two. We did nip upstairs to have a look though, it wouldn’t really be fair to do a review of Volcano Falls miniature golf without showing you a photo of all the courses!

Everything else
There’s a couple of bars, you can order food, there’s also interactive darts, karaoke and a couple of other games.
Next door (but it’s linked) is an amusement arcade. We had a little look around but I successfully managed to dodge losing a small fortune by letting Smallest Child loose in there!

Hi, I’m Vicky. My husband and I live in Aylesbury with our three children; a 14 year old son, an 12 year old son and a 6 year old daughter. I (mostly) love spending time together as a family. We visit all kinds of places and we’re quite happy to drive a fair distance for a decent day out. A few years ago I decided to set up Free Time with the Kids as a way to share our experiences of these family days out.
You’ll find the essential information you need to know before your visit that can be surprisingly hard to find out. Where do I park? How much will it cost me to get in? Are there any discounts available? Are there loos? Can I take a picnic or get food? My aim is to be your go-to guide for all your free and cheap family days out across Bucks, Beds, Oxon, Herts & slightly beyond. I really hope you find the reviews helpful.
