Museums are a great, cheap place to visit with the kids. There are so many amazing museums across Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire and Hertfordshire. There are a vast array of specialities from the weird and wonderful, to animals to aeroplanes. We are lucky that most museums in the UK are free to visit. I’m sure you’d agree that, even the museums that charge are amazing value for money. Plus, museums are usually indoors so they’re a great rainy day option. If you’re looking for other things to do indoors with the kids in Buckinghamshire you can read my guide here.
I’ve also included reviews of museums that we’ve visited as day trips from Buckinghamshire. Yes, they’re a little bit outside of my patch, but they’re worth the extra miles!

Museums are a great family day out
A visit to a museum was a regular part of my childhood growing up in Buckinghamshire. That’s something I’ve continued with my own children. Smallest Child even visited her first museum when she was just a couple of weeks old!! If you’re looking for other amazing free museums across the UK check out this website. As always, if you know somewhere I should be visiting then just get in touch!
