If you’re thinking this post is about a cheerleading class then I’m sorry to disappoint you. The stay and play sessions at Aylesbury Cheerleading Academy also hold stay and play sessions on Fridays from 09:30 – 12:30. They’re perfect for walking to under 5’s.

When I first arrived I was very surprised at the size of the hall. It’s about ⅓ the size of a certain gymnastics neighbour. They have got various soft play obstacles and mats, an inflatable run (which is actually a lot better than a long trampoline because it’s firmer and more stable for smaller kids), a small trampoline and other toys. There’s a nice sprung floor for all the inevitable tumbles and bumps. Thankfully it’s not so bouncy that it makes you feel sick.
There were about 20 kids when we went, which apparently was a very busy day. The session seems to be best suited from walking to about 3 or 4. The maximum age is 5 but I’m not sure if there’s enough to keep older pre-schoolers entertained (something that one of the followers on this page agreed with). It was a really nice session and Smallest Child really enjoyed herself (when she wasn’t hanging out in the lobby which seemed to be particularly interesting). The equipment was very well maintained and the whole place was really clean.
The only downside (other than being quite small) is that there is no refreshments for either children or adults. You can of course bring your own, but they’re not allowed to be eaten on the mats, which is fair enough.

I think only older children would last the full 3 hours. Even so, it’s very good value for money, even if they don’t last the whole session.
Our Aylesbury Cheerleading Academy Stay and Play Review
The stay and play session at Aylesbury Cheerleading Academy is a lovely little play gym session. It doesn’t have the same amount of equipment as other play gyms, because of the size. How much quieter it is more than makes up for that.
