Alfred Rose Memorial Park Review

Alfred Rose Park in Aylesbury is one of the largest ones that we have, but it can sometimes have a bit of a bad reputation. Every time we’ve been it’s actually been ok. There is also a new playground area for under 5’s which looks great! It’s certainly a vast improvement vs what used to be there!

There’s tons of green space with a footpath around the edge for short walks. The largest green has a cricket pitch in the middle of it and I think it used to have regular football training sessions here as well. Not sure if those still happen?? Alfred Rose Memorial Park also has a multi-sports court near the playground.

The new playground at Alfred Rose Memorial Park

The new playground at Alfred Rose Memorial Park is almost finished (although it was supposed to have been finished three months ago). Apparently it’s about connecting with nature, but I can’t quite see how. It does look like it’s going to be a pretty good playground though.

It’s got swings, tunnels, slides, little houses and plenty of spinning or wobbling things!

Equipment for older children

One thing Alfred Rose Memorial Park has got that’s brilliant is a massive play frame. Smallest Child had a crack at it and it was too hard for her. The boys were all over it (literally). There’s also some swings, roundabout and a somewhat droppy zipline.

Then there’s this yellow thing! Honestly, it was slightly terrifying to watch the kids spinning around on it! Not only does it spin AND bounce up and down BUT IT ALSO pivots forwards and backwards. The result is that it’s like the kids fly around like they’re on a fairground ride – but without being strapped in! When it was Smallest Child on one side and Biggest Child on the other it was even terrifying!

Our Alfred Rose Memorial Park Review

The older kids were quite happy with that’s on offer for them. Smallest Child was a bit bored, but that’s only because her bit isn’t open yet. It’s a shame they shut down the old bit before the new bit was open!

Alfred Rose Memorial Park, Aylesbury, Bucks | Review by Free Time with the Kids | Buckinghamshire playgrounds

Hi, I’m Vicky. My husband and I live in Aylesbury with our three children; a 14 year old son, an 12 year old son and a 6 year old daughter. I (mostly) love spending time together as a family. We visit all kinds of places and we’re quite happy to drive a fair distance for a decent day out. A few years ago I decided to set up Free Time with the Kids as a way to share our experiences of these family days out.

You’ll find the essential information you need to know before your visit that can be surprisingly hard to find out. Where do I park? How much will it cost me to get in? Are there any discounts available? Are there loos? Can I take a picnic or get food? My aim is to be your go-to guide for all your free and cheap family days out across Bucks, Beds, Oxon, Herts & slightly beyond. I really hope you find the reviews helpful. If there’s anywhere that you’d recommend please get in touch contact@freetimewiththekids.com or get in touch via Facebook
