Whilst a lot of the places I review across Bucks, Beds, Oxon and Herts are suitable for babies, toddlers and pre-school aged kids, there are some activites are more suitable than others. Here I’ve brought together all of the groups and activities that are specifically aimed at babies, toddlers and pre-school aged kids.

Groups and session for toddlers and under 5’s in Buckinghamshire
Dance classes for children aged 1 – 9 years – available online during covid-19 closures and face-to-face normally. Classes in Fairford Leys (Aylesbury), Wing, Heath & Reach, Pitstone, Berkhamsted, Leighton Buzzard, Linslade, Tring and Waddesdon.

Dedicated sensory centre in Buckinghamshire. Open all week for pre-bookable sessions.
Weekly sessions, each area is on a different day. There are activity sessions suitable for babies, toddlers and pre-school aged children in Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Hertfordshire. Click the image for a session review.
Toddler activities take place on the first Tuesday of the month at Stowe Gardens in Buckinghamshire. Free event, no booking required. Typically 10:30 – 12:00 but double check their website for the final details. Click the image above for my review of Stowe Gardens.
Wycombe Museum in Buckinghamshire run a couple of pre-school sessions on a weekly basis. They alternate between story-telling sessions and forest school each Friday during term time. Click the image above for the full review of the museum.
Rush High Wycombe hold toddler sessions where only under 4’s and their parents and siblings (under 10) can bounce. Sessions take place each morning. Click image above for our review of a toddler session.
Story Frog phonics sessions run on Thursday mornings from 10:00 – 10:45 at your cafe in the park at Aston Clinton and Thursday afternoons from 13:15 – 14:00 at Tesco Broadfields, Aylesbury. £6.50 per session. One of the most family friendly cafes in Buckinghamshire. There’s a separate children’s play room with lots of toys and activities for toddlers and pre-school aged children. Plus scrummy home-made cakes. Click the image for the review of the Barn @ Hulcott.
Weekly sessions on Fridays from 09:30 – 12:30. £3 per child. Their play gym sessions are most suited for toddlers and under 5’s.
Activities for under 5’s in Oxfordshire
Rhmye ‘n climb sessions are for children aged 2-4. As well as climbing there’s stories, songs and crafts. Each Friday at 9:30. There are also monthly family climb sessions. Click the image above for a review of one of their general sessions.
The Ashmolean museum regularly run pre-bookable sessions for babies (Baby Ashmoles) and 3-5 year olds (Little Ashmoles). The forest school at Blenheim palace is free with admission (or an annual pass if you already have one) and runs every Wednesday from 10:00 – 13:00. It’s suitable for all children under 7. Hedgehog club is at Cogges Manor Farm on Tuesdays from 10:00 – 12:00 (click the image for my review of the farm itself). There are also sessions on Fridays at Deer Park Woods from 10:00 – 12:00. £7 per child. Click here to book.
Baby, toddler and pre-school activities in Hertfordshire
Mobile role-playing village at numerous locations across North Hertfordshire and North Bedfordshire. £6.25 per child. Pre booking required. Full review here.
Ad-hoc sessions, £2 per child. The activities at Tring Natural History Museum in Hertfordshire are mainly suitable for toddlers and pre-school aged children.
There are two sessions on Tuesdays at St Albans Gallery. 10:00 – 11:00 and 11:30 – 12:30. £3 per child. Suitable for ages 2-4. Toddler activities include a story, craft and a hunt around the museum. Click the image for my review of St Albans museum.
