This review of Ladygrove park & playground only happened because I need to kill some time between finishing at Island Farm Donkey Sanctuary and Hubby’s train arriving at Didcot train station. I needed something to do with the kids that was close to the station and cheap. A quick google maps search brought up what looked like it could be a decent playground so off we went.
This place has really good potential, but it’s also in serious need of some TLC. I was also really surprised by how much litter there was everywhere. Really sad to see because there’s so much equipment here, and some really good stuff. It could be a great park.
It seems to me that Ladygrove park is actually two different playgrounds – they took what was already there and then stuck some more kit at the side.
The equipment
There’s a big playframe with a massive slide which all the kids loved.
Other equipment includes swings, a zip line (that was broken), a see-saw, one of those rotating rings and a small climbing wall. There’s also this play frame.
Toddler equipment
The toddler playground at Ladygrove park has got various rockers, a small playframe with slide, toddler swings, and a roundabout. The toddler area isn’t separated from the main area.
What else is on site?
There’s a ping-pong table, tennis courts, a skate park and sports courts nearby. The playground itself is full of little mounds for the kids to round around.
Just across the road there’s a massive mound you can walk up. At the top there’s a little labyrinth and you can see for miles. Ladygrove lakes are just behind the hill as well.

Like I say, this could be a really good playground but it needs some work. And someone to pick up all the litter!
