If you follow me on Facebook you’ll know that I really enjoy roller skating, and that this year the kids got their own skates too. Well I cannot really write family reviews in Buckinghamshire, enjoy roller skating and not visit Haddenahm Rollers really, could I! After a break of several years it re-started in 2021 and I’m so excited. Logistics have meant we’ve not been able to get down there until now, but tonight we’ve finally been to check it out.
Currently they’re only based in Haddenham but there are two new locations coming very soon! I’ll let you know as soon as they’re open.
We were very kindly gifted admission to Haddenham Rollers when we arrived and introduced ourselves, but we’d fully intended to pay so it wasn’t a pre-arranged review. All opinions are my own and they didn’t see the review prior to publication.

The sessions
Haddenham rollers has three sessions; 4.30 – 5.30 pm 3-9 year old (plus supervising adults), 5.30 – 6.30 pm 9+ years (plus supervising adults) and monthly adults only roller discos 8 – 10.30 pm. The family roller skating sessions are every Friday. The adult only sessions are once a monthly and must be pre-booked. You can check the next dates on their website.
How busy the sessions were varied. When we arrived it was at the end of the first session, and that looked quite busy. The later family skating session changed quite a lot as people came and went. At times it was really busy (but not so busy you were falling over each other), and at others there was only half a dozen off us in the room.

Cost – Family skating sessions – £6 per skater. Non-skaters are free. Skates are available to hire on the door – £5, Junior size 6 upwards. Some adult skates are also available. You are allowed to bring your own skates though. Adult skating sessions £8.50 per skater. £2.50 per non-skater.
Skates and safety equipment is also available for sale.
What skill level is it suitable for?
All abilities are welcome. There’s a rail around the edge of the hall that less-experienced skaters can cling on to! Don’t be intimidated though, it’s good family fun roller skating. When we visited Haddenham Rollers there wasn’t anyone doing tricks or showing off!
Parents are very welcome to join in and skate, but you don’t have to. Quite a few parents were in the hall (in shoes) helping their kids. At the early disco session I saw one adult skating. In the later session I was the only adult skating. We seriously need to get some more adults down there!
Refreshments
There’s a decent amount of seating in the foyer outside the main hall for those who aren’t skating. There are reasonably priced food and drinks available throughout and shortly after the sessions.
Our Haddenham Rollers Review
I’m so happy we have a local roller disco again! When I was a kid I went to Rollers in Milton Keynes all the time and would spend hours there! Haddenham Rollers is a nice, relaxed, family friendly roller disco. It’s perfect for beginners and those with more experience.
I’ll have to go to the adult version of Haddenham Rollers soon to see what that’s like. The earlier sessions are very much family roller discos and no-one was jam skating. I wonder if anyone does at the later sessions?
All prices are correct at the time this review of Haddenham Rollers was published. Please check their website for the latest times and prices.

What else is there to do nearby?

Hi, I’m Vicky. My husband and I live in Aylesbury with our three children; a 14 year old son, an 12 year old son and a 6 year old daughter. I (mostly) love spending time together as a family. We visit all kinds of places and we’re quite happy to drive a fair distance for a decent day out. A few years ago I decided to set up Free Time with the Kids as a way to share our experiences of these family days out.
You’ll find the essential information you need to know before your visit that can be surprisingly hard to find out. Where do I park? How much will it cost me to get in? Are there any discounts available? Are there loos? Can I take a picnic or get food? My aim is to be your go-to guide for all your free and cheap family days out across Bucks, Beds, Oxon, Herts & slightly beyond. I really hope you find the reviews helpful. If there’s anywhere that you’d recommend please get in touch contact@freetimewiththekids.com or get in touch via Facebook
