Lockdown Resources for Families – indoors & outdoors

Over the past few weeks I’ve been putting together lots of different resources for families to help us all through lockdown. I don’t know about you but it’s been tricky coming up with ideas of things to do indoors and outdoors with the kids whilst we’ve been in lockdown. Now we’re allowed unlimited time outdoors there’s a risk that we all flock to the same places! I’ve put together guides on how to find quiet family walks across Bucks, Beds, Oxon and Herts. Not venturing out? There’s lots of things you can do at home as well!

Scroll down for the latest covid safe reviews, or search the family walks tag by clicking here. These are all places that are currently open and have plenty of outdoor spaces for social distancing. For some of the more popular places they will also have social distancing measures in place to control crowds.

Please note that some of these may be closed, many will be offering reduced facilities and some will be more suitable for social distancing that others. I’ll be continuing to share places that allow decent social distancing on my Facebook and Instagram pages. As well as the usual information, I’ll be sharing social distancing specific information. Make sure you like/follow for the latest updates. Got your own recommendations of good places? Share them on the Facebook chat group.

Success! You're on the list.

Hi, I’m Vicky. My husband and I live in Aylesbury with our three children; a 10 year old son, an 8 year old son and a 3 year old daughter. I (mostly) love spending time together as a family. We visit all kinds of places and we’re quite happy to drive a fair distance for a decent day out. A few years ago I decided to set up Free Time with the Kids as a way to share our experiences of these family days out. You know, the essential information you need to know before your visit that can be surprisingly hard to find out. Where do I park? How much will it cost me to get in? Are there any discounts available? Are there loos? Can I take a picnic or get food? My aim is to be your go-to guide for all your free and cheap family days out across Bucks, Beds, Oxon, Herts & slightly beyond. I really hope you find the reviews helpful. If there’s anywhere that you’d recommend please get in touch contact@freetimewiththekids.com or get in touch via Facebook
