Free Time with the Kids

Why I set up Free TIME WITH the Kids

Hi, I’m Vicky. My husband and I live in Aylesbury and we have three children; a 10 year old son, an 8 year old son and a 2 1/2 year old daughter and I (mostly) love spending time together as a family. Free Time with the Kids has come about because I’m always trying to find new things to do and places to visit.

We have a real passion for nature, science and history, both at home and on our family day trips. Over the years we’ve been to some amazing places. That said, money doesn’t grow on trees, and the cost of lots of day trips and generally keeping children entertained soon adds up. On this website you’ll find loads of free and cheap family days out across Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Oxfordshire. There’s also ideas of things to do with the kids when you’re at home, both indoors and outdoors. You’ll find cheap crafts and lots of activity suggestions to keep everyone entertained.

How to find your next family day out

Search for your next cheap family day out here! Just enter a town, county or attraction you’d like to visit. You can also search for type of family day out such as indoors, outdoors, museum reviews, free, cheap or Blue Peter attractions etc

I’ve broken the reviews into sections so you can find your next family day out really easily; You’ll find reviews on free places to visit, places where you only have to pay for parking and days out costing less the £25 per family. There are also lots of schemes and subscriptions that can help you reduce the cost of a day out such as having a Blue Peter badge or being a member of CSSC (a scheme for public sector workers). You’ll probably pick up from my posts, but I love the National Trust and English Heritage so they get their own review section too!

Looking for a days out in a specific county? No problem, just click the tags at the bottom of the page and in the menu. Looking for a specific thing to do? Again, no problem – there are review sections for that in the menu too.

Make sure you check out the blog too – there’s loads of what’s on guides, discounts and tips on saving money on your family days out plus reviews of specific events and activities.

Have a look around to find out more about our cheap family days out in Bucks, Beds, Oxon and Herts. I’m always keen to hear recommendations of places our family should visit, so please get in touch if there’s somewhere I’m missing.

Success! You're on the list.
